Sorry for the lack of updates, life happens!

I want to apologise for no updates in almost two years! Lots of life changes, I have moved out of state.
We are trying to establish a new life here, spotty internet access.
But I will be updating more and making this less of a focus on food, more focus on just anything!
Life, food, TV show discussions, product reviews. Just anything and everything.
So, please stick with me! Check in often. I vow to make a post at least weekly!

Something new in the kitchen :)

Today I decided to tackle the cabinets and put some new contact paper on them. The old paper was starting to fade and looked pretty worn. So, here it is! Took 4 hours to scrape off the old and about 15 minutes to apply the new!

I think it look great! Brightens up the kitchen. What do you think? Leave a comment :)

Grape Leaves

One of my favorite things to cook!
1 lb of ground turkey or beef
1 cup of rice
1 jar of grape leaves
1 can of crushed tomato's
2 lemons
lamb or beef on the bone
olive oil
salt, pepper, garlic, all spice
1. Boil grape leaves with a little salt
2. Combine Turkey, rice, a little olive oil, 1 clove of garlic minced and spices.
Roll the mixture into 1 grape leaf at a time, making them about an inch long by laying the leaf out and placing the mixture at the bottom, where the stem would be, fold it over, then fold sides in and continue rolling.
3. Place lamb or beef in the bottom of a pot, layer the rolled up leaves, pouring tomato and sliced garlic over each layer.
4. Add the final layer and place slices of garlic and slices of 1/2 of a lemon. Squeeze the other half of a lemon in the pot and cover with water and add spices.
5. Boil for 20 minutes and let it simmer for at least 2 hours. Serve with lemon wedges from the other lemon to squeeze over the leaves and enjoy :)

Getting started....

I am a 23 year old stay at home mother. I have a 2 year old daughter who is my world! She is bright, loving and stubborn!
I love cooking and trying out new dishes. This blog will be me sharing those experiences and foods from every country and culture!
I mainly cook American and Middle Eastern foods because that is the back ground of my family. I am American, my husband is Palestinian.
I got married young, at 19 and became a stay at home mother at 21 when I had my daughter and fell in love with cooking as opposed to it being just something that needed to be done!
So please, visit me everyday and see what is cooking and post comments with your own take and experiance on what I am cooking up :)
